Taking inspiration from the natural beauty of his native Finland, design legend Alvar Aalto creates iconic home design pieces that are functional and sculptural. In the decades since winning the 1937 Paris World Fair, Aalto's flowing wave ("aalto" in Finnish) shape has become a timeless symbol of Scandinavian interior design. Each unique vase is first mouth blown, then pieces are hand cut before going through several polishings at the Iittala Glass Factory.
